Jhd., 40 Literaturquellen Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Über Elisabeth von Österreich ist viel publiziert worden, was sich in schier unüberschaubaren Literaturveröffentlichungen, Trivialromanen und nicht zuletzt in den legendären „Sissi“ - Verfilmungen widerspiegelt. Die gesamte Sisi - Bibliographie zählt von den zeitgenössischen Büchern bis zu den neusten Studien nun über 300 Titel. Mit dieser Arbeit soll versucht werden ein kompaktes Bild der Beteiligten am Attentat, der Begleitumstände dieses Gewaltaktes und die Auswirkungen auf das politische Geschehen jener Zeit, wenn es denn welche gab, darzustellen. Der Anarchismus darf in diesem Zusammenhang als letztendliche „Todesursache“ Elisabeths natürlich nicht unerwähnt bleiben und wird dementsprechend auch in einem Kapitel dieser Seminararbeit Berücksichtigung finden. Der Umstand, dass „Sisi“, wie Elisabeth in ihrer Heimat auf Schloss Possenhofen in Bayern gerufen wurde , keineswegs eine typische Vertreterin der aristokratischen Herrscherhäuser des 19. Jahrhunderts war, soll in einer kurz gefassten Biographie zum Ausdruck kommen. Diese dramatisch – romantische Lebensgeschichte, welche posthum von Legenden umrankt zu einem international vermarkteten Produkt wurde, lässt sich in dieser Form natürlich nur in Aspekten bzw. Streiflichtern schildern. Wie auch ihre vielen Eigenarten, zum Beispiel das „Nichtlachen“, ein Resultat ihrer Eitelkeit, da die kaiserlichen Zähne nicht gerade ansehnlich waren , nur marginal angesprochen werden können. Über die richtige Schreibweise des Kosenamens für die Kaiserin Elisabeth wird bis heute gestritten: Ist jetzt „Sissi“ oder „Sissy“ respektive „Sisi“ die korrekte Form? In dieser Niederschrift wird auf das populäre „Sissi“ verzichtet und stattdessen das bayerische „Sisi“ verwand. Die Person des Attentäters und Anarchisten Luigi Lucheni muss selbstverständlich hier auch näher beleuchtet werden. Auch die Umstände, welche einen hoffnungslosen Täter hervorbrachten, der durch seinen Mordanschlag gesellschaftliche Aufmerksamkeit und persönliche Identität erzwingen wollte und viele Fragen gegenüber der Nachwelt offen ließ, sollen hier ansatzweise dargelegt werden. Die Sinnfrage, die sich doch bei jedem Attentat stellt, kann hier schon in der Einleitung mit Unverständnis des Autors beantwortet werden. Aber der Mythos der die ehemalige österreichische Kaiserin umgibt ist zu einem großen Teil auf eben dieses tragische Ende zurück zu führen.
